Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college or university.
• Ordination or equivalent endorsement and in good standing with the individual’s faith group.
• Completion of two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate spiritual care and support to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Deliver spiritual assessments, counseling, and guidance.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

Skills

Knowledge of the processes of death, dying, and bereavement

Understanding of diverse faith traditions

Strong public speaking skills

Effective community organization abilities

Education

Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in theological studies

Master of Divinity or comparable master’s-level degree
