Franciscan Alliance, Inc. Indianapolis Hospice House and Outpatient Hospice is seeking a Hospice Chaplain to assist patients and families with psychosocial, social, spiritual, and emotional needs during illness and end of life. The chaplain provides pastoral visitation, counseling, and spiritual care as part of the hospice team.

Expect to work with an interdisciplinary team, document care, and respond to needs promptly. Travel up to 75% and on-call duties are required.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Divinity, Theology, Religion or Christian Spirituality is required.
• Master’s Degree in Divinity, Theology, Religion or Christian Spirituality is preferred.
• CPE is preferred.
• NACC certification is preferred.
• Ecclesiastical Endorsement is required.
• Auto Insurance is required.
• Driver’s License is required.
• 2 years ministerial experience is required.
• 1 year hospice experience is preferred.
• 1 year healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Document patient care information with timely, accurate records.
• Function within an interdisciplinary hospice care team.
• Provide pastoral ministry through visitation, counseling, and support.
• Offer clinical basis for ministry using active listening, reflection, prayers.
• Respond promptly to calls with spiritual and emotional support; on-call rotation.

The Hospice Chaplain assists patients and families in meeting their psychosocial, social, spiritual, and emotional needs during illness and death. This role within Franciscan strives to provide pastoral ministry through visitation, counsel, and support to patients and families, as requested.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Document patient care information, and ensure timely and accurate completion of patient care records in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Function as a part of an interdisciplinary team providing hospice care to patient and families.
• Provide a clinical basis to the ministry by sound, applied spiritual and psychological principles e.g. active listening, reflection, discussion, prayers
• Respond promptly to calls providing spiritual and emotional support to patients/families.
• Serve in an on-call rotation and provide patient support outside business hours.
