Job summary

Franciscan Health Indianapolis Hospice House is seeking a Hospice Chaplain to support patients and families with spiritual and emotional needs during illness and end of life. The role provides pastoral visitation, counsel, and support through interdisciplinary teams.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Divinity/ Theology, endorsement, ministerial experience, and ability to travel up to 75%. On-call rotations apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Divinity, Theology, Religion or Christian Spirituality is required.
• Ecclesiastical Endorsement is required.
• 2 years ministerial experience required.
• Auto Insurance and driver's license required.
• Travel up to 75% is required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient care information, and ensure timely and accurate completion of patient care records in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Function as a part of an interdisciplinary team providing hospice care to patient and families.
• Provide a clinical basis to the ministry by sound, applied spiritual and psychological principles e.g. active listening, reflection, discussion, prayers
• Respond promptly to calls providing spiritual and emotional support to patients/families.
• Serve in an on-call rotation and provide patient support outside business hours.

The Hospice Chaplain assists patients and families in meeting their psychosocial, social, spiritual, and emotional needs during illness and death. This role within Franciscan strives to provide pastoral ministry through visitation, counsel, and support to patients and families, as requested.
