Job summary

Serenity Hospice Care is seeking a compassionate Hospice Chaplain to assess and address the spiritual and religious needs of patients and their families in Burlington/Camden/Gloucester County, NJ. The role includes coordinating spiritual services and supporting families through bereavement, in alignment with the organization’s values.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team, contribute to care planning, and provide spiritual counseling and emotional support while maintaining documentation

Qualifications

• Must hold at least one Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) unit.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide inter-faith spiritual care with cultural and theological competence.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and Auto Liability Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patients' spiritual needs and coordinate services.

Serenity Hospice Care is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Chaplain to join our team in Burlington/Camden/Gloucester County. The Chaplain is responsible for assessing the spiritual and religious needs of patients and their families, arrange for the provision of spiritual and religious support in accordance with their wishes, and supporting families in the bereavement process.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with patients spiritual needs, including coordination of services.
• Provide spiritual counseling and emotional support to patients/families.
• Participate in the development of the care plan.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
• Communicate with families and patients.
• Demonstrate commitment to Serenity Hospice’s philosophy of care, values, mission statement and organizational culture.
• Answering emails, voicemails, patient database charting, etc.

Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of one Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) unit.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervised experience in a medical, educational or religious agency/institution preferred.
• Ability to provide an inter-faith approach to spiritual care demonstrating a high level of cultural and theological competence in working with diverse faith and belief systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and teaching skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Reliable transportation with valid Drivers License and Auto Liability Insurance.
