Responsibilities as a Hospice Aide/ CNA:
- Report directly to the Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager and function under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor.
- Help the patient maintain good personal hygiene.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Prepare and serve light meals.
- Assist in feeding patients when needed.
- Assist the patient in ambulation and with the safe use of mobility aids.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as trash and linens.
- Assist with treatments as ordered and allowable by state regulations.
- Promote patient’s mental alertness through engagement in activities.
- Provide emotional and psychological support.
- Report changes in patient condition or home situation.
- Demonstrate basic care to caregivers.
- Practice infection control and standard precautions.
- Accurately document visits and care activities.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in quality improvement activities.
- Complete documentation promptly as per orientation guidelines.
Qualifications - About You:
- Compassionate, kind, and empathetic nature.
- Comfortable providing care in a home setting.
- Flexible and composed in crisis situations.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Six months of relevant patient care experience preferred.
- Additional experience in hospital or emergency settings beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Current CPR certification.
