As a Hospice Aide/ Certified Nursing Assistant, you will:
  • Report directly to the Administrator, Executive Director or Patient Care Manager, and function under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor.
  • Help the patient to maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Prepare and serve light meals.
  • Assist in feeding patients when needed.
  • Assist the patient in ambulation.
  • Assist with the safe use of a walker or wheelchair as taught and supervised by the nurse.
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as trash and linens.
  • Assist with treatments as ordered and allowable by state regulations.
  • Promote patient’s mental alertness through activities.
  • Provide emotional and psychological support.
  • Report changes in patient’s condition or home situation.
  • Demonstrate basic care to caregivers.
  • Practice infection control and standard precautions.
  • Accurately document visits and participate in staff meetings.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement activities.
  • Complete documentation timely.
About You

Requirements:

  • Compassionate, kind, and empathetic to patients and families.
  • Comfortable providing care in a patient’s home.
  • Flexible and composed in crisis situations.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
  • Six months of patient care experience preferred.
  • Additional experience in hospital or emergency settings preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Current CPR certification.
