This is a full-time weekday position, 8am-5pm, that does not require weekends or holidays!

As a Hospice Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant, you will:

  • Report directly to the Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager and function under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor.
  • Help the patient maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Prepare and serve light meals.
  • Assist in feeding patients when needed.
  • Assist the patient in ambulation.
  • Assist with the safe use of a walker or wheelchair as taught and supervised by the nurse.
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as emptying trash and changing linens.
  • Assist with treatments as ordered on the aide plan of care and as allowed in state-specific regulations.
  • Promote patient’s mental alertness through activities of interest.
  • Provide basic emotional and psychological support to the patient and household members.
  • Report any changes in the patient’s condition or home situation to the Registered Nurse and team.
  • Demonstrate basic care to the primary caregiver.
  • Practice infection control measures and standard precautions.
  • Provide accurate documentation with visit itineraries.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Participate in at least one Quality Improvement activity yearly, as assigned.
  • Complete documentation promptly as outlined in orientation.
About You

Hospice Aide/CNA Requirements:

  • Compassionate, kind, and empathetic to patients and families.
  • Comfortable providing care wherever the patient calls “home”.
  • Flexible and composed while supporting others in crises.
  • Current CNA license.
  • Six (6) months of patient care experience preferred in hospice, home health, ICU, geriatric, or oncology.
  • Additional experience such as hospital Staff RN, Med Surg, PACU, ER, critical care, or nursing home is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
  • Current CPR certification.
