This is a full-time weekday position, 8am-5pm, that does not require weekends or holidays!

As a Hospice Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant, you will:
- Report directly to the Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager and function under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor.
- Help the patient maintain good personal hygiene.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Prepare and serve light meals.
- Assist in feeding patients when needed.
- Assist the patient in ambulation.
- Assist with the safe use of a walker or wheelchair as taught and supervised by the nurse.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as emptying trash and changing linens.
- Assist with treatments as ordered on the aide plan of care and as allowed in state-specific regulations.
- Promote patient’s mental alertness through activities of interest.
- Provide basic emotional and psychological support to the patient and household members.
- Report any changes in the patient’s condition or home situation to the Registered Nurse and team.
- Demonstrate basic care to the primary caregiver.
- Practice infection control measures and standard precautions.
- Provide accurate documentation with visit itineraries.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Participate in at least one Quality Improvement activity yearly, as assigned.
- Complete documentation promptly as outlined in orientation.
About You
Hospice Aide/CNA Requirements:
- Compassionate, kind, and empathetic to patients and families.
- Comfortable providing care wherever the patient calls “home”.
- Flexible and composed while supporting others in crises.
- Current CNA license.
- Six (6) months of patient care experience preferred in hospice, home health, ICU, geriatric, or oncology.
- Additional experience such as hospital Staff RN, Med Surg, PACU, ER, critical care, or nursing home is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
- Current CPR certification.
