Job summary

Optimal Care is seeking compassionate Hospice Aides to provide hands-on, end-of-life care for patients in Central Indiana. This role requires certified nursing assistants with a passion for patient comfort and dignity.

You will assist patients in daily living activities and work across various care environments. Flexibility in schedule is a must, with varying opportunities in full-time, part-time, and per diem positions.

Qualifications

  • Must hold current certification as a nurse aide and be in good standing on the state registry.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a hospice aide, home health aide, or certified nursing assistant preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with valid insurance.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned service area.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including standing, bending, lifting.

Responsibilities

  • Support safe transfer, ambulation, positioning, and comfort measures.

Opportunity

Optimal Care is building a talent pipeline of compassionate CNAs and STNAs for future Hospice Aide opportunities serving Central Indiana. Hospice Aides provide Hands‑on, end‑of‑life care that supports patient comfort, dignity, and quality of life in homes and care facilities.

Service area includes:

Carmel / Boone / Clinton / Hamilton / Hancock / Hendricks / Johnson / Madison / Marion / Morgan / Shelby. Flexibility to work across adjacent counties within the service area is required.

Schedule

Full Time: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with weekend rotation
Part Time: Three weekdays (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM), with weekend rotation
Per Diem: Flexible weekdays, Monday-Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM), with weekend rotation

What You'll Do
  • Travel to patient homes and facilities within the assigned service area
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
  • Support safe transfer, ambulation, positioning, and comfort measures
  • Assist with meals, hydration, and basic care-related homemaking
  • Take and document vital signs as directed
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to the RN
  • Follow individualized Hospice Care Plans while adapting to assignment changes and varying care environments
  • Document care provided and communicate professionally with patients, families, facility personnel, and the care team
Qualifications
  • Must hold current certification as a nurse aide and be in good standing on the state registry
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a hospice aide, home health aide, or certified nursing assistant preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with valid insurance

Pay Range
