Job Description

Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant

Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Territory: Kalamazoo to Three Rivers to East Leroy

What You'll Do

• Uphold Elara Caring’s mission and adhere to policies, HIPAA, safety, and infection control standards.
• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision, including hygiene, mobility support, vital signs, and assistance with daily activities.
• Perform tasks such as ostomy care, catheter care, dressing changes, and safe use of medical equipment.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition or environment, following care plans.
• Maintain professionalism and respectful communication with patients, families, and team members.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and support medication reminders without administering medication.
• Participate in training and in-service programs to ensure compliance and care quality.
• Promote a safe, supportive, and patient-centered care environment aligned with Elara Caring’s philosophy.

What is Required?

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of experience as a Hospice Aide or Nursing Assistant
• State-established or other Hospice Aide training program
• Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
• 50% travel
