Job summary

ProHealth Group in Gadsden, AL is seeking a PART-TIME Hospice Aide to provide personal care to terminally ill patients under RN supervision. You will support families and work as part of the hospice team according to the IDG care plan.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of an approved training course, and Home Health Aide competency. Minimum 2 years of nursing assistant experience is preferred; CPR and CNA certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from approved training and competency course.
• Must meet federal Home Health Aide training and competency requirements.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a nursing assistant preferred.
• Ability to respond to crises outside of hospital settings.

Responsibilities

• Under RN direction, provide essential personal care to hospice patients (bathing, mouth/skin/hair care).
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, ROM, and activities of daily living as per care plan.
• Provide emotional support to patient and family; offer encouragement.
• Maintain competency and participate in supervision/evaluation by RN.
• Report changes in patient condition to hospice office and RN.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and agency policies; attend in-service education.
• Maintain current certification and knowledge of infectious disease protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
