Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Passion for horticulture, floral design, and outdoor environments.
• Previous experience in horticulture, landscaping, floral design or related field preferred.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• General knowledge of hotel operations and guest service standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, planting, and upkeep of large containers using annuals, perennials, and ornamental shrubs.
• Support maintenance of cut flower gardens, greenhouse, and vegetable gardens; planting, weeding, watering, pruning, mulching, and fertilizing.
• Assist with garden tours, wreath making, and flower arranging classes.
• Assist with seasonal and holiday décor installations indoors and outdoors.
• Create floral displays throughout the hotel using fresh and artificial materials.
• Maintain and refresh floral arrangements; watering and upkeep.
• Assist in plant selection and material procurement.
• Collaborate with team to ensure efficient operations and guest service.
• Perform lifting and moving of materials such as planters, soil, mulch, and equipment.
• Assist with additional Grounds Department tasks and special projects as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Horticulture Assistant is responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining high-impact displays and large-scale plant installations throughout the hotel and property. This role works closely with the Horticulturist to ensure all designs align with the property’s aesthetic standards and enhance the overall guest experience.

Essential Job Functions:
