Job summary

The College of Music at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a full-time tenure-track/tenured horn professor at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, starting August 12, 2027. The successful candidate will teach, recruit, and maintain an active creative career while fostering graduate student work.

We seek an accomplished performer and educator with a strong record of teaching at the collegiate level and a commitment to collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching at the collegiate level.
• An established record of excellence as a performing artist.
• Earned master’s degree in Horn Performance or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach applied horn, weekly studio class, coach chamber music, and related courses in brass.
• Participate in regional, national, and international recruitment.
• Maintain an active creative career and supervise graduate theses and projects.
• Advise students and undertake College/University service activities as appropriate.
