Job summary

Pioneer Design Group – Hawaiʻi, LLC. seeks a Project Planner in Honolulu to lead land-use applications and coordinate with clients and agencies. This in‑office role offers a path to hybrid work as the project progresses.

You will manage planning processes across Hawaiʻi counties, craft clear written and oral communications, and present at public meetings, bringing strong attention to detail and a solid background in planning and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in community development, community planning, urban planning, or a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years working in the field of land use planning.
  • Knowledge of the Hawaiʻi planning processes across the various counties, along with their individual land use and urban planning policies and initiatives.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, along with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience working with the Autodesk suite of CAD programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and submittal of land use applications and entitlement processes across Hawaiʻi counties.
  • Manage the planning process and coordinate with project clients.
  • Provide clear written and oral communication within PDG-HI, clients, local jurisdictions, and the public.
  • Attend, present and/or manage meetings with the public or planning commission.
