Job summary

H. T. PROF Group is seeking an experienced Honing Technician / Precision ID Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Connecticut.

The role focuses on setting up and operating manual honing equipment to produce precision components with extremely tight tolerances and superior surface finishes. You will read blueprints, select tooling, inspect parts with precision measuring tools, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to meet production goals in a safe, organized environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years honing or precision machining experience.
• Experience working with extremely tight tolerances.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining practices, shop mathematics, and metal properties.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual honing machines
• Produce components to extremely tight tolerances (up to 0.0001–0.0002")
• Hone aluminum, steel, titanium, plastics, and specialty alloys
• Select proper honing stones, abrasives, tooling, and fixtures
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
• Verify quality, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet production goals
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Position Summary
