Job Juncture seeks an experienced Honing Technician / Precision ID Machinist to join a client in the precision manufacturing sector. The role focuses on setting up and running manual honing equipment to produce components with extremely tight tolerances and superior surface finish.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years of honing or precision machining experience, reads engineering drawings, and uses precision measuring tools to verify quality. Strong mechanical aptitude and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years honing or precision machining experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining practices, shop mathematics, and metal properties.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual honing machines.
• Produce components to extremely tight tolerances (up to 0.0001–0.0002").
• Hone aluminum, steel, titanium, plastics, and specialty alloys.
• Select proper honing stones, abrasives, tooling, and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Verify quality, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet production goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Compensation

Starting at$32.00+/hr(based on experience)

Position Summary

The Honing Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating manual honing equipment to manufacture precision components that meet exact dimensional tolerances and superior surface finish requirements. This position requires strong machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.
