Job description

Expected Salary: $24 to $28 per hour

Brief Description

Entry Level Position. Hone Machinist is responsible for producing work meeting the drawing specifications and requirements.

Key Accountabilities

1. Completes set-ups with supervision/assistance.
2. Responsible for all phases of part operation set-up to achieve first article acceptance within allotment time, as a Level I machinist.
3. Perform and maintain accurate in-process quality inspection and records.
4. As you learn, identify and recommend process improvements that reduce part quality variation.
5. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Desirable Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors

1. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent
2. Ability to learn all phases of part operation set-up on various Hone equipment.
3. CNC/Technology/Machinist trade school certification a plus.
4. Ability to learn to use Air Indicators, Dial Bore Gages, Deltronic pin, profilometers and plate inspection methods, first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts.
5. Ability to maintain required finishes, close tolerances (within .0002-.0005”) of I.D’s, OD's, roundness, perpendicularity and concentricity.
6. Some understanding of machine tool accuracies, size offsets, tool pressures and required tooling.
7. Some knowledge of cutting tool feeds, speeds, and best tool life for aerospace materials.
8. Ability to follow verbal instructions and interpret blueprint and quality requirements in English.
9. Ability to communicate with employees and management in a positive manner.
10. Ability to lift a maximum of 25 lbs. (over 25 lbs. with assistance).
11. Ideal candidate will have experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma.
12. Reliability is key, you will need to be on time and have minimal unscheduled time off.
13. Stable work history.
