Job summary

Clawson-Honda-of-Fresno is seeking a dedicated service porter to keep the service drive clear and orderly. You will park, inspect, and move vehicles, apply protective covers, and verify damages during intake and before delivery to customers.

You must maintain a professional appearance, possess a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record, and communicate effectively with customers and service staff. Flexible scheduling and a 6-day work week are expected.

Responsibilities

• Park vehicles in assigned areas after service write-up and damage inspection.
• Assist in moving disabled vehicles within the Service Department.
• Retrieve customer vehicles from the parking lot when the bill is paid or directed by the cashier.
• Inspect vehicles for damage and record it on the repair order during intake and prior to return.
• Deliver keys and repair orders to the appropriate workstation after parking a vehicle.
• Inspect the lot for damage and report any issues to management immediately.
• Install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and ID tags in serviced vehicles.
• Remove coverings and tags before returning a completed vehicle to the customer.

Responsibilities:

The Honda porter is responsible for keeping the service drive clear. The candidate will need to park vehicles in assigned areas after the service write-up and damage inspection are complete. The porter assists in moving disabled vehicles in or around the Service Department. Candidates will be responsible for retrieving customer vehicles from the parking lot when their bill is paid or as directed by the cashier. The candidate will inspect the vehicles and record on the repair order any vehicle damage present when the vehicle is taken in for service. Candidates will deliver keys and repair orders to the appropriate workstation immediately after parking a vehicle in the service parking lot. Candidates will inspect each vehicle on the lot for damage that may have been done during the vehicle's stay in the Service Department. Candidates will be responsible for reporting any damage to management immediately. The candidates will install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and ID tags in all vehicles taken in for service. Prior to returning a completed vehicle to a customer, the porter will remove the seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and ID tags installed when the vehicle was taken in for service.

The approximate pay range for this position is $16.90-$17.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location for this position.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a valid driver's license alongside an insurable driving record. Porters will be required to walk/ stand for long periods. Candidates must be able to work alone. Candidates must have a flexible work schedule, as we are open 6 days a week Monday-Saturday. Professional appearance and work ethic. Candidates will need to have effective interpersonal communication skills. Candidates will need to treat customers as the first priority at all times.
