DB Insurance USA is seeking a Personal Lines Underwriter (Homeowners & Dwelling Fire) at our Great Neck, NY office. This full-time, hybrid role involves analyzing client information, applying underwriting guidelines, and collaborating with agents to deliver profitable insurance solutions.

You will assess risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and help maintain a balanced portfolio aligned with company risk objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 0 to 3+ years of personal lines underwriting experience, with level based on experience.
• Understanding of underwriting principles, policy guidelines, and state regulations for Homeowners and Dwelling Fire.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with agents, brokers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess property characteristics, claims history, and data to determine insurability and risk.
• Conduct risk analyses per underwriting guidelines and state regulations.
• Decide to accept, reject, or modify insurance applications.
• Collaborate with agents, brokers, and customer service to communicate decisions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Review the book of business to maintain balance and identify growth.
• Stay informed on market trends and regulatory changes to adjust strategies.
• Participate in training to stay current on underwriting practices.
