Ak-Chin Indian Community seeks a Homemaker to perform general household tasks and assist clients with personal care under supervision in the Health and Health Services department. The role involves teaching home management, meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe home environment for clients who require support due to age or health conditions.
Two years of homecare experience is preferred, and completion of a background check is required.
Under general supervision, this position performs general household tasks (i.e. housekeeping, cooking, etc.) in aiding those who have needs that require personal care and supervision due to advanced age, infirmity, physical conditions or mental impairments.
The position of Homemaker is used to fill personnel vacancies within the Health and Health Services department on an as needed basis. There is no guarantee for minimum hours worked. This is not a Homemaker developmental program, but a Homemaker augmentation program.
Two (2) years of experience in providing homecare services preferred or related work; OR anyequivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Must complete and pass a background check.
Applicant must obtain First Aid/CPR certification, acquire a TB skin test and a Food Handler’s card within the first 60 days of the start date of employment. The Health and Human Services Department will assist in obtaining the certifications.
