Job summary

The City of Austin’s Austin Homeless Strategies and Operations (HSO) Department seeks a capable professional to help address homelessness through data-driven programs and community partnerships. You will work with HMIS data, shelter providers, and city teams to improve outcomes and coordinate services.

You will contribute to performance tracking, policy development, and outreach while embracing a hybrid work arrangement, travel as needed, and a focus on compassionate public service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience may substitute for education up to four years.
• Experience with HMIS data and reporting preferred.
• Experience with homeless populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements programs and activities.
• Coordinates with community organizations to address needs.
• Conducts needs assessments with residents and leaders.
• Collaborates to plan and improve services.
• Researches funding sources and plans.
• Represents the City before groups and media.
• Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers.
• Assists in budget development and monitoring.
• Develops operating policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with City and regulatory requirements.
