Job summary

The Salvation Army Southwest Division is seeking a full-time case manager at the Owens Campus in Nevada to provide direct services to homeless and at-risk veterans and families. The role includes counseling, referrals for shelter and housing, and coordinating with community partners.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (or related field), four years’ experience preferred, strong communication skills, and a valid Nevada driver's license with a clean record.

• Must have a valid Nevada Driver's License, clean driving record, and own vehicle; mileage reimbursement provided.
• Must pass Defensive Driving courses to operate Salvation Army vehicles.
• Must pass criminal background check.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related discipline. A Minimum of four years of related employment experience may be substituted for degree requirements.

• Must have a valid Nevada Driver's License, clean driving record, and own registered and insured vehicle for business activity. Mileage reimbursement will be provided when a personal vehicle is used for business purposes.
• Must successfully pass Defensive Driving courses provided by The Salvation Army to operate The Salvation Army vehicles.
• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide direct case management services to homeless and at-risk veterans and families.
• Provide supportive counseling and referrals for shelter and housing. Assist with eviction prevention processes.
• Learn and maintain knowledge of community employment agencies and procedures, along with modifications to those procedures.
• Engage with, interview, and assess individuals and families uniformly for service referral.
• Utilize a community-wide data system to enter clients in HMIS, confirm activities from other service providers, create community reports, and verify eligibility.
• Ability to manage Coordinated Entry / Assessment
• Knowledge of SOAR training
• Knowledge of Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS)

• Ability to work with homeless individuals during the process of obtaining and stabilizing in housing.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, or desktop/laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, be knowledgeable of Microsoft Office, other programs assigned and the ability to understand written information.
