Job summary

The City of Minneapolis seeks a Homeless Response Coordinator to lead the city’s response to unsheltered homelessness in the field and through cross‑department collaboration. You will coordinate outreach, referrals, data, and stakeholder engagement with partners such as Health, MPD, and shelter providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as social work, human services, mental health services, affordable housing or public policy.
• Two years of experience working with people experiencing homelessness and coordinating with internal/external stakeholders.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Equivalency of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform street outreach work, including interacting with persons experiencing unsheltered homelessness, making referrals to housing and shelter.
• Coordinate the response to unsheltered homelessness among city departments and partners to deliver outreach, health services and sanitation.
• Coordinate work of street outreach teams contracted by the City and County; ensure coverage of geographic areas and housing goals.
• Work with regional partners to inform outreach coordination and activities.
• Prepare and present data on unsheltered homelessness and outreach outcomes.
• Represent the City in meetings with elected officials, partner staff, community members, and people with lived experience of homelessness.
