Job Description:

This job contributes to Homegrown - West Salem. Dispensary success by leading a team of store employees to create and maintain the Chalice experience for all customers. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the store in the absence of the Store Leader and is required to carry out the overall operations as guided by the Store Manager. Ensuring customer satisfaction, product quality, safety, security, and compliance within the store, with a goal of advancing to a Store Leader position.

Description of Duties/Tasks: (In addition to all job duties listed under the Product Specialist)

  1. Displays a customer-first attitude by training and holding employees accountable for delivering the highest level of customer service.
  2. Sets an example and encourages all employees to meet and exceed the company’s goals and objectives consistently.
  3. Manages with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes the culture, values, and mission of Chalice Farms.
  4. Is competent in all aspects of work done by Receptionists, Product Specialists, and Shift Leads.
  5. Assists the Store Manager with hiring, training, developing, and motivating team members.
  6. Maintains awareness and understanding of all company policies and regulatory compliance requirements.
  7. Assists with planning, identifying, communicating, and delegating responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
  8. Ensures cleanliness, organization, and attractiveness of the store’s interior and exterior, along with personal professional appearance.
  9. Assists with forecasting, scheduling, and monitoring labor to align with sales and product development.
  10. Helps execute and drive sales promotions effectively, tracking progress towards goals.
  11. Participates in weekly inventory audits and manages product ordering from the Wholesale Purchasing Dept.
  12. Leads excellent customer service through coaching, role modeling, and utilizing customer feedback.
  13. Reviews daily POS, METRC reporting, and employee clocked hours for accuracy.
  14. Follows inventory control procedures to reduce product loss.
  15. Schedules regular meetings with the Store Manager to discuss successes and areas for development.
  16. Supports effective succession planning by identifying and developing future leaders.
  17. Acts as a champion of Chalice Farms both inside and outside the store.

Knowledge:

Must possess required knowledge and be able to demonstrate that the essential functions of the job can be performed, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Required:

  • 21 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proven advancement in a supervisory role
  • OLCC Marijuana Workers Permit
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills – energized by working with guests and team members
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience with Dutchie, LeafLogix, and/or METRC preferred
  • Attentive to detail, punctual, and dependable
  • A bias towards action – owner mentality to do whatever it takes
  • Desire to coach and mentor, fostering potential in team members
  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to listen and take directions quickly
