First Day Homecare - Michigan is seeking an RN to provide skilled nursing care for a pediatric client on a part-time basis, with day and night coverage in Shepherd, Michigan. Services include medication administration, care plan adherence, and coordination with the client’s health team under physician orders.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, a Michigan RN license, and CPR certification, plus strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN license to practice in Michigan.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with auto insurance as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders and documents changes in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• Scope includes personal care, monitoring, reporting, medication administration, patient education, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services (e.g., tracheostomy care, ventilator management, tube feedings).
• Works collaboratively with the client’s care team.
• Promotes safety for clients and coworkers.
• Complies with Agency policies, procedures, and payor/accreditation standards.
• Participates in care coordination and agency meetings.

Job Summary

Schedule / Expected Work Hours: Two cases available in Shepherd

An older pediatric client seeking part-time day coverage and part-time night coverage.

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Qualifications
