First Day Homecare, LLC is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) for pediatric home health in Midland, Texas. The position offers part-time day and night coverage for an older pediatric client, with a focus on high-quality, compliant nursing care under medical orders.

The role requires: LPN license in Texas, CPR certification, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an LPN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the Nurse Practice Act.
• Follows medical practitioner orders and client care plan.
• Maintains client orders and documents changes in the medical record.
• Performs personal care, monitoring, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and pediatric-specific tasks such as tracheostomy, ventilator, and tube feedings.
• Collaborates with the care team.
• Ensures safety and compliance with policies and standards.
• Coordinates care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties as needed.

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
