Job summary

COLLETON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Homebound/Homebase Special Education Teacher to provide direct instruction to students who cannot attend school, coordinating with teachers and coordinators to deliver compliant academic plans.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher and at least three years of teaching experience, plus a valid SC teaching certificate. Candidates must manage calendars, maintain logs, and adhere to district policies throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and at least three years of successful teaching experience.
• Valid SC Teaching Certificate for subject area as required by the SC Department of Education.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals and instructional manuals.
• Experience coordinating with Attendance Office and teachers; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct homebound instruction to students who are medically unable to attend school.
• Maintains accurate timesheets and mileage logs for each student.
• Keeps weekly calendar of appointments; coordinates with Attendance Office for attendance coding.
• Implements an academic plan in collaboration with coordinators, teachers, and students.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.
