Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks a dedicated homebound teacher to provide instruction for students who are hospitalized or unable to attend school. The teacher leads curriculum planning, monitors progress, and ensures continuity of instruction between the classroom and home.

Under moderate supervision, you will implement individualized plans, maintain records, and collaborate with classroom teachers to support diverse student needs and ensure compliance with district policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Three years of teaching experience required.
• Valid NC Teaching license in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area that meets students' needs.
• Provide direct educational instruction to homebound or hospitalized students.
• Consult with teachers and staff about assignments and accommodations; implement homebound instructional plan.
• Implement lesson plans to ensure continuity between classroom and home.
• Maintain records in accordance with policies.
