Job Description

Position : Home Visitor Aide (0.34 FTE/9 months per year)

Home-Based Early Childhood Education Program

Duties:

  • Work with families with young children (1 ½ -3 ½). Be responsible for implementing an Early Childhood curriculum that helps families prepare their children for school.
  • Provide regular Home Visits to each assigned family using appropriate educational materials and resources.
  • Organize and carry out group activities with the assigned families.
  • Participate in in-service training and weekly staff meetings.
  • Carry out assessments, evaluations, school contacts, weekly record-keeping, and duties as may be determined by the Programs.

Your Skill Set:

  • Have an interest, experience, and/or education in working with young children and their families.
  • Relate well to young children, parents, and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Have the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Be willing to learn and use the Program materials and methods.
  • Be flexible, dependable, have access to a telephone, and ability to get around the city.
  • A high school diploma is required.
