Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Vehicle Delivery Driver in San Antonio to deliver purchased vehicles to customers’ homes and pick up vehicles for appraisal. You will perform safety inspections, ensure on-time deliveries, and represent CarMax professionally in every interaction.

The role emphasizes safe driving, adherence to DOT/FMCSA standards, and maintaining vehicle availability while working outdoors in all weather conditions. Competitive hourly pay and guaranteed home time are provided.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age with a valid state driver's license.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past 3 years.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and secure vehicles during transport.
• Must be able to climb, bend, and kneel to access vehicles on multi-level transport decks.
• Must meet DOT & FMCSA qualification requirements.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with adherence to CarMax policies and safety standards.
• 1+ year of customer service experience and 1+ year of delivery driving experience or CarMax experience.
• Must possess or obtain a DOT Medical Card before starting with CarMax.

Responsibilities

• Safety first - perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections as per DOT and CarMax standards.
• Maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload CarMax vehicles safely and efficiently, including physical handling.
• Move vehicles between CarMax locations and approved vendors using a company-provided truck.
• Deliver vehicles accurately and on time to support inventory flow and store schedules.
• Represent CarMax professionally in interactions with vendors, store staff, and the public.
