Job summary

Learning Care is seeking a Food Specialist to manage meal preparation for the school’s enrolled children and support staff with home-style, nutritious meals. You will follow menus aligned with USDA and licensing rules, while maintaining kitchen inventory and assisting in classrooms when needed.

The role emphasizes health and safety, with opportunities for training and career growth within a positive, supportive childcare environment.

Qualifications

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.

Responsibilities

• At home in the kitchen! Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within menu and budget, and prepare meals/snacks for children and staff.
• Follow the daily menu provided by the Director which includes USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
