Job summary

Humboldt Senior Resource Center in Eureka, CA is seeking a Home Repair Technician to perform minor home repairs for older adults as part of the Home Repair Program. Responsibilities include visiting clients’ homes, assessing needs, estimating costs, and completing repairs that improve safety and accessibility.

The role requires 3–5 years of repair experience, a valid CA driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid certification. Per diem, as-needed hours; travel across Humboldt County is expected.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of basic home repair experience, including carpentry and minor electrical/plumbing.
• Demonstrated interest in working with older adults and sensitivity to their needs.
• Valid California Driver’s License with personal vehicle and insurance.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Background checks and pre-employment screenings required.

Responsibilities

• Visit clients’ homes to assess repair needs and estimate costs.
• Perform minor home repairs not requiring licensed contractors.
• Complete safety and weatherization tasks as described.
• Prepare paperwork for each job promptly and accurately.
• Represent HSRC professionally and uphold its values.
