Job summary

Lincare Holdings in Lenexa, Kansas, seeks a Respiratory Home Care Technician to perform equipment setup for ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units in patients' homes. You will provide technical assistance and maintain records in line with policy and accreditation standards.

The role requires on-site fieldwork with a personal vehicle, strong patient relations, and knowledge of respiratory homecare concepts. On-call shifts may be required evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Level 1 familiarity with home healthcare equipment and services, required.
• Level 2 minimum two years in home healthcare, required.
• Level 3 minimum three years in home healthcare; may train others, required.

This employee performs equipment setups in a timely and professional manner.

• Generally responsible for the setup of highlytechnical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units

  • Incumbent may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well
  
  
  
  

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need andLincare policy, frequently in patients' homes
  
  
  
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
  
  
  
  


• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures


• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts


• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA(includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning


• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of writtenreports


• Facilitates prescription collection


• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards


• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as scheduled basis

Work Experience

• Level 1 - Familiar with equipment and services provided in the home healthcaresetting, or other patient care, Required

• Subject to state law/regulation, RNs, LPNs, LVNs, paramedics, EMTs, and other clinicians may alsobe qualified for this position
  
  
  
  • If applicable, based on the requirements of state, in addition to avalid state license, current National Board of Respiratory Care Credentials may also be required for
    CRTs and RRTs.
  
  
  • Subject to State requirements and management approval, on an exception basis,
    a person may be hired that does not meet all the above certifications and training, but practices respiratory therapy as authorized by applicable state law
  
  
  
  

Licenses and Certifications
