Job summary

Preble Street in Portland, ME seeks a HOME Supervisor to lead the HOME Services Management Team, supervise direct-service staff, and ensure high-quality, low-barrier services to clients experiencing homelessness. The role focuses on program leadership, clinical oversight, and MaineCare compliance in collaboration with the Program Director.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am–4:30pm, with an hourly rate of $30.78 and generous benefits including paid time off, health and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field OR minimum of 5 years relevant homeless services experience.
• Master’s Degree in social work, nonprofit management or related field preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit social services management and supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise direct-service team and manage program operations.
• Provide leadership in program activities and direct client services.
• Participate in program development, evaluation, and resource development.

Job Details:

Job Location: Preble Street - PORTLAND, ME 04101, Salary Range: $30.78 - $30.78 Hourly, As a member of the HOME Services Management Team, the Supervisor ensures the provision of high-quality services in alignment with the agency mission through the supervision of the direct-service team, functional management of the program, leadership in program activities, and provision of direct services to clients. The HOME Supervisor also participates in program development and evaluation, resource and systems development, community relations, and MaineCare compliance and billing in support of the Program Director.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field of study OR minimum of 5 years relevant experience in homeless services OR comparable combination of education and relevant experience is required.

Master’s Degree in social work, nonprofit management or related field of study; significant, relevant experience in nonprofit social services management and supervisory experience preferred.

Eligibility and Background:

Candidates must have experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, and with people experiencing mental health and substance use related conditions. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the Preble Street mission, social work best practices, low-barrier service provision, oppression theory, and social and economic justice, and knowledge of populations served by all programs. Understanding of and positive regard for individuals experiencing homelessness and/or living in poverty is required.

The Schedule:

The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers an hourly rate of $30.78. Generous paid time off, insurance, and retirement plan benefits include:
