Job summary

Regency Care of Rogue Valley in Grants Pass, OR seeks a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist in a skilled nursing setting.

You will assist with active and passive exercises, gait training, ADLs and safety, document progress, and collaborate with the health-care team to support individualized treatment plans. A PTA license in Oregon is required.

Qualifications

• Possess a degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution.
• Maintain a current, unrestricted PTA license in the assigned state.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, gait training, ADL, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT, nurse, or physician.
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and health care team in therapy participation to assist patient.
• Visit patients according to Plan of Treatment and complete a daily note for each visit.
• Contribute to developing the Plan of Treatment with the supervising PT.
• Adhere to Therapy Standards of Practice in service provision.
• Report patient progress, complications, or responses to treatment to the PT.
• Assist the PT in procedures, tests, and complex treatments.
