Job summary

AdaptHealth, LLC is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to support patient transitions to home or clinic by delivering, setting up, and maintaining respiratory and home medical equipment, while educating patients and caregivers to ensure safety and independence.

You will perform patient assessments, maintain oxygen systems, complete documentation, respond to equipment issues, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year healthcare technician, military service, delivery/field service with customer interaction or related experience preferred.
• Senior level requires two years of relevant experience, including one year in a similar role.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations.
• Perform patient assessments and re-assessments to support ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on the safe use, care, and troubleshooting of respiratory and HME equipment.
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including under emergency conditions when required.
• Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled patient visits.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and infection control standards.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and simple repairs; report equipment hazards or incidents as required.
• Process orders and complete documentation accurately and timely to support patient care and reimbursement.
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services.
• Promote company services and products to referral sources, as appropriate.
• Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with all company policies and compliance program requirements.
• Complete required compliance training and participate in on call rotation as scheduled.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
