Job summary

AMIGOS DEL VALLE INC in McAllen, TX seeks a delivery driver to pick up and drop off prepared meals to homebound elders. You will drive your own vehicle on an established route, ensure trays are complete, and deliver in person.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a current Class C driver’s license, and your own transportation with auto liability insurance. Bilingual English/Spanish communication and basic math help in recording deliveries and handling reports.

• Delivers the prepared meal plate in hand and face to face when possible.

Job Location: ADV- Las Palmas Center - McAllen, TX 78501, Salary Range: $9.00, JOB SUMMARY: Drives own vehicle over established route to deliver prepared meals to homebound elders by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drives own vehicle to deliver prepared meals to homebound elderly.
• Examines filled trays for completeness and ensures food is delivered in conformance with standards.
• Listens to and reports client complaints to supervisor; reports abnormal conditions observed at clients’ homes.
• Records information and completed reports.
• Ensures all delivery equipment is in good condition and is responsible for the sanitation on a daily basis.
• Ensures the prepared meal plate is delivered to homebound elderly in hand and/or face to face at all times.
• Other duties may be assigned.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Reports hazardous situations to supervisors.

Qualifications: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current Class C drivers license and acceptable driving records as required by insurance carrier. Must have own transportation and possess personal auto liability insurance.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:

Ability to communicate in English and Spanish. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
