AMIGOS DEL VALLE INC. is seeking a delivery driver to transport prepared meals to homebound elders from the Las Palmas Center in McAllen, TX. You must have a Class C license, reliable transportation, and the ability to communicate in English and Spanish.

The role involves accurate delivery, reporting, and maintaining sanitation of equipment, with a focus on safe, face-to-face handoffs to clients as needed. Wage is hourly and commensurate with duties and schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training.
• Current Class C driver's license and acceptable driving record as required by insurance carrier.
• Must have own transportation and possess personal auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prepared meals to homebound elderly on an established route.
• Drive own vehicle to deliver meals and ensure on-time delivery.
• Verify trays for completeness and conformance with standards.
• Record information and complete required reports.
• Maintain sanitation of delivery equipment on a daily basis.
• Handle face-to-face or in-hand delivery of meals to clients.

JOB SUMMARY

Drives own vehicle over established route to deliver prepared meals to homebound elders by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drives own vehicle to deliver prepared meals to homebound elderly.
• Examines filled trays for completeness and ensures food is delivered in conformance with standards.
• Listens to and reports client complaints to supervisor; reports abnormal conditions observed at clients’ homes.
• Records information and completed reports.
• Ensures all delivery equipment is in good condition and is responsible for the sanitation on a daily basis.
• Ensures the prepared meal plate is delivered to homebound elderly in hand and/or face to face at all times.
• Other duties may be assigned.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

• Reports hazardous situations to supervisors.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current Class C drivers license and acceptable driving records as required by insurance carrier. Must have own transportation and possess personal auto liability insurance.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS

Ability to communicate in English and Spanish. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
