Job summary

Crawford Thomas Recruiting has partnered with a growing healthcare organization in Dunmore, PA to recruit a Pharmacy Technician. This role supports sterile preparation and compounding of infusion medications under the supervision of a pharmacist, assisting with medication preparation, patient supplies, equipment assembly, and routine cleaning.

Candidates must have sterile compounding and clean room experience, excellent attention to detail, and good communication skills; eligibility to register

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Registered with the State Board of Pharmacy, if applicable.
  • Previous sterile compounding experience required.
  • Clean room experience required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare infusion-related medications using proper sterile compounding and aseptic techniques.
  • Follow appropriate hand hygiene and garbing procedures.
  • Complete compounding logs, supply assembly records and cleaning documentation.
  • Assemble patient supplies and equipment.
  • Clean and maintain pharmacy work areas and equipment.
  • Follow infection prevention and contamination control procedures.
  • Identify and report potential contamination or safety concerns.
  • Handle hazardous drugs according to applicable procedures, when required.
  • Participate in quality control and performance improvement activities.
  • Work closely with pharmacists and other pharmacy team members.

Job Summary

This role will assist with medication preparation, patient supply and equipment assembly, pharmacy cleaning and maintenance, and quality control activities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Formal pharmacy technician training
  • Experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of USP standards
  • Experience with sterile or hazardous drug compounding
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
  • Frequent computer and keyboard use
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing more than 40 pounds
