Job summary

AOM Infusion is seeking an Infusion Nurse, Independent Contractor, to join our team in the Sault Ste. Marie, MI area. The role focuses on providing high-quality infusion care and patient education in collaboration with our in-house RN staff.

The ideal candidate is a graduate from an accredited nursing program, licensed as an RN, with CPR certification and experience in home infusion. Pediatric home infusion experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed and registered as an RN in the states where practicing.
• Current CPR certification.
• At least one year of RN experience, preferably in home infusion.
• Pediatric home infusion experience preferred or ability to become competent.
• Knowledge of infusion access devices (peripheral/PICC/central lines).
• Flexible with work schedule and after-hours coverage.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermittent visits based on nurse availability.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document patient biophysical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
• Perform physical assessments and report problems to physician and in-house RN staff.
• Collaborate with in-house RN staff on care plan implementation.
• Identify and report changes in patient condition requiring plan adjustment.
• Provide patient and family education related to health care needs and therapies.
• Insert and manage intravenous access devices and report issues to pharmacy/RN staff.
• Document all nursing actions and discharge planning needs.
• Maintain infection control and HIPAA compliance.
