Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Amedisys home health team is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to coordinate and oversee patients' home care, collaborate with care teams and develop individualized care plans. You will assess patients, deliver skilled nursing care, educate families, and document progress for the clinical manager and physician.

The role supports LPNs and HHAs, involves injections, IV therapy, catheters, and regular communication about patient status.

Qualifications

• One (1+) year of clinical experience as a registered nurse.
• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Note: If less than 6 months RN experience, participate in RN Intern program.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and oversees all aspects of patients' home care.
• Collaborates with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educates families on patient condition, needs and care.
• Performs head to toe physical assessments.
• Checks vital signs and manages medications.
• Gives injections, IV therapy or tube feedings.
• Administers and maintains catheters.
• Completes documentation timely and accurately.
• Supervises LPNs and HHAs.
• Regularly communicates patient progress to the clinical manager, physician and care team.
• Other duties as assigned.
