Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a registered nurse to join our home health team on a PRN weekday schedule. You will coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients' home care, collaborate with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans, and educate families on patient condition, needs, and care.

Responsibilities include head-to-toe assessments, monitoring vital signs, managing medications, giving injections, IV therapy or tube feedings, catheter care, timely documentation, and supervising LPNs

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN) or approval by VP clinical if less than 1 year.
• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Able to assess patient status and adapt to age-specific needs.
• Familiarity with computer use and online HR/training systems.
• Note - RN internship if <6 months RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and oversees all aspects of patients' home care.
• Collaborates with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educates families on patient condition, needs and care.
• Performs head to toe physical assessments.
• Checks vital signs and manages medications.
• Gives injections, IV therapy or tube feedings.
• Administers and maintains catheters.
• Completes documentation timely and accurately.
• Supervises LPNs and HHAs.
• Regularly communicates patient progress to the clinical manager, physician and care team.
• Other duties as assigned.
