Job summary

Beacon Home Health is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for their Home Health team. The role involves on-the-road service delivery within the Claiborne County area and surrounding communities, under the supervision of a PT.

You will provide exercise instruction, patient education, and participate in plan-of-care decisions to enhance patient well-being. Must have active PTA license and CPR, plus reliable transport for daily travels.

Qualifications

• Current PTA license in the state where services are rendered.
• Current CPR certification, driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Must be able to reliably commute to multiple patient residences daily within the geographic area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide services in accordance with laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care.
• Follow the treatment set only as defined by the supervising PT.
• Perform only those procedures that he/she is qualified and trained to perform.
• Make all recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising PT.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re‑education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report to the supervising PT, the nurse supervisor, and/or the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition.
• Coordinate care with the other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.

Position Overview
