Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver prescribed therapy in patient homes around West Houston, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will help clients reach mobility and independence goals while maintaining high clinical standards.

You will educate patients and families on home therapy, use assistive devices safely, and monitor progress to report changes to the supervising therapist. A valid PTA license and transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Current PTA license valid for the state
• Graduate of accredited PTA program approved by the American Therapy Association
• 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients
• Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, or have reliable transportation to travel between patient homes and assigned work locations

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services according to the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist
• Help patients work toward therapy goals that improve mobility, function, and independence
• Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes in condition or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Educate patients and caregivers on home therapy programs and techniques to support continued progress
• Teach patients and families how to safely use assistive devices, including canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, and orthotics
• Deliver safe, high-quality therapy services in accordance with physician orders, clinical standards, and state practice guidelines
• Support patients throughout the West Houston market and surrounding communities, with assignments determined by clinician location and business needs
