You must be a graduate of an accredited program and possess current state licensure and CPR certification. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
• Current certification or license as required by state law.
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
• Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
• Licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy according to directions of physical therapist.
• Treats patient to relieve pain and develop or restore function.
• Directs and aids patients in therapeutic exercises and functional training.
• Utilizes physical agents including heat, cold, electricity, and massage.
• Observes and reports to the physical therapist any changes in patient’s condition.
• Instructs patients in care and use of assistive devices.
• Maintains clinical records and participates in meetings.
