Job summary

AdventHealth is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant to support patient care in Hillsborough County, Florida. You will work under a Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, educate patients and families, and document progress with care and compliance.

The role requires PTA licensure, basic computer skills, and strong communication. Schedule is Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm with on-call rotations. Sign-on bonus up to $5,000 and mileage reimbursement are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required (Physical Therapy Assistant) and PTA licensure.
• Basic computer skills and ability to read/write/speak English.
• Driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain open communication with the case manager, primary therapist, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate interdisciplinary continuity of care and appropriate discharge planning.
• Maintain productivity standards and adjust hours to meet patient needs.
• Document interventions and patient progress accurately and timely using objective terminology.

Job Description:

• Up to a $5,000 Sign on Bonus Available
• Mileage reimbursement provided: $0.76 per mile
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; weekend on-call rotation

• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of patients.
• Participates in departmental meetings, education sessions, and performance improvement initiatives to maintain clinical competencies and adhere to professional and evidence-based practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Monitors patient response to treatment and communicates with the Physical Therapist for necessary adjustments.
• Educates patients, family members, and caregivers on identified needs, ensuring understanding.
• Implements treatment plans established by an Physical Therapist utilizing recommended techniques, adhering to insurance guidelines and patient needs.
• Documents interventions and patient progress accurately, completely, and timely, using measurable and objective terminology in line with standards of practice, insurance guidelines, and department/hospital policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Entry level competency of Physical therapy practice, theory, principle, and applications as defined in competency department policies.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.

• 1+ home health experience [Preferred]
