Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for HomeCall Baltimore, a Home Health role within the Optum family. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified new hires and mileage reimbursement along with a comprehensive benefits package.

The PTA will perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education per the plan of care created with and under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Weekend rotation availability is required.

Qualifications

Currently licensed, registered, or certified to assist in physical therapy in the applicable state.
CPR certification current and valid.
Have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Able to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

Follow state-specific laws governing home PT and work under the supervising PT's plan of care.
Instruct patients in active and passive exercises, gait, ADL, and transfer techniques; document progress.
Coordinate care with the healthcare team and communicate patient responses to treatment to the PT and nursing/physician staff.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy within the PTA scope of practice.
