Dover Health, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Physical Therapist Assistant at our St. Louis location.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will have the opportunity to connect with, and positively impact the lives of, our patients daily! You will promote the physical, personal, and emotional well-being of patients and work with the Dover Health teams to strive to reach the ultimate goal, which is to return the patient to their maximum level of self-care and independence, when possible.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will impact the lives of our patients by –

Providing direct patient care to patients according to the established plan of care and under the direction and supervision of physical therapists, within the Standards of Practice for Physical Therapy, and in compliance with the applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies.
Observing, recording, and reporting the client’s reaction to treatment and any changes in the client’s condition to the supervising Physical Therapist, physician, Director of Nursing, Administrator and/or Clinical Supervisor as needed and in accordance with agency policies.
Collaborating with the Physical Therapist in updating the plan of care as necessary and promoting coordination of care through interprofessional or interdisciplinary communication in accordance with the agency policies.
Educating patients and their families or caregivers about managing patient’s illness or injury, including home care needs, home safety, and use of assistive and adaptive devices.
Participating in care coordination and discharge planning activities and acting as a resource to other health care personnel in meeting patient's needs.
Participating in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Participating in professional development and lifelong learning activities.
Performing other responsibilities as assigned

To become a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will need –

Current Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state(s) of practice
Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification
Current and valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current liability auto insurance.
Must be able to meet all physical demands of the job which includes, but is not limited to: seeing, speaking, touching, walking, standing, bending, reaching overhead, crouching/kneeling or crawling, as well as the ability to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs independently and up to 200lbs with assistance.
Ability to work well with others and take direction from management, as well as take initiative – willing to go above and beyond to ensure our patients needs are met and they are comfortable in their living environment.
Self-motivated to accomplish identified goals with a strong sense of accountability for results.
