Job summary

Pathways Healthcare is seeking an Occupational Therapist for per diem work in the Springfield, VA area. The role involves comprehensive home assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and training patients in activities of daily living, prosthetics, orthotics, and adaptive equipment use.

Qualifications include an accredited OT degree, NBCOT/National Registration, CPR, and a valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

• Must hold an OT degree from an accredited program and be registered with the national board.
• Minimum two years of clinical OT experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities required; CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including functional status and home environment.
• Evaluate work capacity and refer vocational training when needed.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with achievable goals.
• Train patients in daily activities, prosthetics, orthotics, and adaptive equipment use.
• Maintain accurate records and report patient condition changes promptly.
• Educate families and caregivers on treatment plans.
• Supervise occupational therapy assistants and home health aides.
• Participate in training, meetings, and case reviews.
• Refer patients to additional services as needed and coordinate discharge planning.
