Interim HealthCare of Atlanta, GA is seeking a Home Health Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team. This full-time role focuses on delivering personalized home-based therapy to help patients regain independence and perform daily activities in their own homes.

You’ll work with a home health team, maintain a flexible schedule, and enjoy top pay with benefits and growth opportunities through our nationwide network.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and active GA OT license.
• Minimum of 1 year of occupational therapy experience in home healthcare.
• HCHB charting experience.
• CPR certification, negative tb screening or chest x-ray.
• Driver's license, reliable transportation & insurance.
• Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations.
• Good clinical judgment, strong communication, dexterity and compassion.
• Able to pass federal and state background checks and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy to patients unable to perform daily tasks due to illness or injury.
• Collaborate with the home health team (RN, LPN, CNA, HHA, PT, SLP) based on the plan of care and patient goals.
• Assess patients, observe deficits, set therapy goals and document progress.
• Assist patients with exercises to improve fine motor skills and coordination.
• Suggest adaptive equipment to enhance safety and independence.
• Assess fall risks and implement home safety strategies.
• Educate patients and families on the plan of care, exercises and self-care.

As a Home Health Occupational Therapist, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide occupational therapy to patients unable to perform daily tasks due to an illness or injury
• Work as part of a home health team which may include an RN, LPN, CNA, HHA, PT and SLP, focused on the patient’s plan of care and personal goals
• Assess patient, observe deficits, establish therapy goals and document progress
• Assist patient with exercises to improve fine motor skills and coordination
• Suggest adaptive equipment such as grab bars and shower chairs to offer added support
• Assess fall risks and introduce strategies to improve home safety
• Educate patient and family on plan of care, exercises, goals and self-care

A few must-haves for Home Health Occupational Therapists:

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and active OT license in GA
• Minimum of 1 year of occupational therapy experience in home healthcare
• HCHB charting experience
• CPR certification, negative tb screening or chest x-ray
• Drivers license, reliable transportation & auto insurance
• Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
• Good clinical judgment /proficiency, strong communication skills, dexterity and compassion
