Job summary

Virginia Home Care Services, Inc. in Northern Virginia is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide one-on-one, home-based therapy.

You will help clients regain independence, adapt to daily challenges, and improve quality of life, delivering compassionate, client-centered care in patients' homes. The position covers the Northern Virginia region (Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, Prince William, Loudoun, Fauquier).

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active Virginia OT license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field (Home Health preferred).
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion, patience, and commitment to client-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client evaluations via medical history, interviews, and functional assessments.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with client goals.
• Help clients relearn daily living activities (e.g., dressing after stroke).
• Demonstrate therapeutic exercises, including joint stretching for arthritis relief.
• Assess home environments and recommend safety/accessibility improvements.
• Educate families on supportive care techniques.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and mobility aids; provide use instructions.
• Document progress for care planning, billing, and compliance.

Position Overview
